Well, I got back from Anime Iowa, so my memory is starting to get a little fuzzy...but, I'll try to recap what I can ^^.
Precon-Thursday:
I stayed up late helping do things that finish up packing costumes, taking a shower, and loading stuff into our minivan. Nothing too big happened.
Precon-Friday:
Morgan, one of the people driving with up, didn't show up til 6 am (suppsoed to be there at 1 or 2), so we were a little late on things. Then it took us forever to pack up, and Himeko wouldn't decide what costume she wanted to do the first day so I jsut went in my normal clothes and my naruto headband. We got on the road bout 8 or 9 and headed towards the Chicago area to pick up Matt and Nick, the last two members of our drive up there. We got stuck in traffic and it ended up taking us longer to get there then planned. Then, the directions Himeko copied down confused me, so we got lost. We finally foudn them though and hurriedly packed up and went on the road to Iowa. About 2 pm we were at the edge of Illinois and looking for a place to eat, specifically Maid Rite. We took a lot of worng turns and finally found one (after passing it and another) after at least 1 hour, but probably more. It was slow service...and the food was only adequate. We finally got to Des Moines around 4 and we got lost trying to find the hotel O.o. I hate one way streets! We finally found it thanks to Morgan calling a friend, and we headed inside.
Friday-con:
Costume: Rena from Star Ocean EX/Second Story
So we are finally there. We go inside and find registration easily enough, but Urd-chan has to go up to the third floor to find out whats going on with panelist badges. Morgan, Nick, and Matt go off to get their badges while Himeko, Sakura, and I wait around for Urd-chan to return. We are just discussing how we need to find our hotel keeper when she pops up ^^. SO then Eiko-san joined our little gathering. A bit later Menchi came over, too. I'm not sure when, but CCWill popped up and he cussed at Sakura making her mad. I felt so bad for her. She is only 13 and it really got to her. He left soon after that. Morgan came over and dropped some stuff off and Urd-chan finally reappaeared after 2 searches for her revealing nothing. Then she had to go get in line tog et out four badges ^^;. That was madness. Himeko and I hurriedly switched into our costumes. The rest of the night was basically spent wandering around and taing pictures, and I actually managed to stick with Himeko, Nick, and Matt for a good part. I did Karaoke the first night.
Karaoke: Negai wo Futatsu (DNAngel) with Sakura, Eternal Snow (Full Moon wo Sagashite) with Urd-chan, Nemurenai wa Yoru (Slayers) with Urd-chan
After that, I went back to the room and left the wanderers to wander. While I was in the bathroom changing, Nick came back with some girl who neded a hotel room to stay in. No offense to her...but she scared the crap out of me. No one was too happy with her staying with us. Then Himeko came back a little later in tears. Matt had pulled some crap on her and she was feeling terrible. I was the happiest member of my fam that night XD. I just stayed their painting up my prop for the morning.
Saturday-Part 1:
Costume: Rosette from Chrno Crusade
The second day started out kinda weird, too. That extra girl had ended up sleeping in Matt's Squall jacket (that he had lent to Nick) and then she ran off with it. Guess later she ran off with the gunblade, too. Anywho, I was one of the first to awake and I started to get into my costume when I realized I didn't have my patalones. The search involved two trips down to our car across the street and tearing the room apart. Turns out it and the Chrno socks (for Himeko) were in my clothes bag XD. Her and I grabbed up our costume stuff and my new prop, Pandemonium's head, and ran off to go join the con. Later we were joined by some of the others.Not too much happened during the first half of the day. We went into the dealers room and looked around. I ran into Sen-san who is the guy who's gonna send me to Japan! WAAAAAI! It's almost all worked out ^^. And I found this Sanji and Zoro plush I wanted really bad. We got attacked by Greg Ayers in the Artist Alley XD. Nick spent most of the day in the room fixing his Neji costume. We asked him if he wanted to come to lunch with us, but he said no. So, we dug out a phonebook and looked for the nearest foodplace. Though the hotel said there was nothing in walking distance, we found a subway five blocks away and we took the skywalks to it. Everything clsoes before 2. I swear O.o There was almost no life. XD Then we came back and decided it was a good time to change costumes.
Saturday-Part 2:
Costume: Mimiru from .hack//sign
I put my head away and swtiched costuems as did my partner Himeko. Then we all took off to go downstairs, after I made Himeko a "hug the kitty" sign for her Ichigo costume X3. We went to the dealers room and I bought my Sanji! I'm not sure exactly when, but I kinda got split up from the group. It was probably when we were in the con suite. I went with Urd-chan to go and do karaoke, and no one else followed of course, and they were gone when I got back. It was also about this time that I realized someone might be "stalking" me. I saw him constantly on friday and all of saturday, and he always popped up behind me. Makes me wonder O.o not that I don't do the same things at cons sometimes. Like my Ed at Otakon X3. Anywho...Urd-chan wasn't feeling well at Karaoke, so we didn't stay long.
Karaoke: Four Seasons (InuYasha Movie 3) with Urd-chan, Nemurenai wa Yoru (Slayers) with Urd-chan
I was soooo happy. This girl in the front row (who I swear sung Sanji's image song X3 ) told Urd-chan and I that we rocked. That makes me happy X3. After karaoke, I walked with Urd-chan to the elevator then we went out sepaerate ways. I went looking for any of the other members of the group, but I couldn't find them. Finally, I decided to sit it out with Morgan in Artist Alley. i stayed there for a bit then went traveling with the other guy behind his table. I ran into Himeko and Matt for a brief moment, but I wanted to help the guy find his friends. Som I left them behind. After a while of not finding them, I returned to my hotel room for pizza and to ask Urd-chan and Eiko-san if Morgan could use the room for the night. Of course they said yes and I had to run down to tell him. I had just missed my peeps, too. I finally ran into them, and I wandered with Sakura for a time. Then we went into the dance to spy on himeko and they caught us. Soon after, Sakura and I went upstairs to go to bed.
Sunday-Final day:
Costume: Kagome from InuYasha
The final day I arose bright and early and went to find Urd-chan a pop. Upon failing, I went back up and we started hauling what lugguage we could to our car. Luckily, no one else was up yet XD. Soon, a few of our members started stirring so they could pack and help, but the rest of the con was too. I ran up and down the stairs so much after that. And, I accidentally talked to my "stalker" dude XD. I guess Eiko-san and David fell behind me ^^;. Once we finished, Nick, Matt, Himeko, and I all went up to the con suite to grab some food. We met up with Eiko-san and Sakura there. We did some last minute wandering and picture taking, but we mianly sat in a circle on the second floor jsut chatting. We heade dup to the con suite about 12:30, and Himeko had gotten all depressed again. She went off to wander on her own, and I was pretty much left to my own devices till Sakura or himeko came back. At about 1:30, Urd-chan, Sakura, Eiko-san, and I all headed down to the panel room without telling Nick and Matt (everyone was kinda pissed at them by that point). We sat there (Urd-chan, Himeko, and I made up the panel) waiting for it to be 2 (an InuYasha panel). Lots of people came early and we all talked until it was close to the actual time. Himeko reappaeared and soon we were ready for the panel. The panel wasn't bad, but my head hurt like hell. So, after it was over, Urd-chan and I went down to the gift shop to get some Tylenol. Urd-chan then went off to the dealers room, Himeko went off to find Morgan, and Matt and Nick went off who knows where. I sat there with Sakura and Eiko-san. After several minutes the Tyleol kicked in and I was active again ^^. It took us an exra half hour then planned to get everyone together, then we piled in the car and started headed home with menchi following us.
Sunday-aftercon:
I was still wearing my Kagome costume on the ride home, but I had gotten rid of the wig and put back on my Naruto headband. The ride was pretty uneventful. I don't sleep in cars, so I spent a lot of time talking to Nick, who didn't sleep much either. We stopped at the good Maid Rites on the way home, but we had to call Scott (kinda like Himeko's ex) for directions. it was worth it though. Then we stopped at the Malt shop next to it and I got a milkshake. I loooove chocolate milkshakes...heck, I just lvoe icecream in general. Sakura and I switched seats there so Urd-chan could have an awake person in the front to do tolls. The rest of the people seemed to die around then. It was getting pretty late ^^;. We got Matt and Nick back to Matt's house at about 9 and then we headed on home ourselves. We got home at 12 and I was about to die. I wanted to go to bed soo bad (had to get up at 5:30 next morn). SO, I hurriedly got ready and passed out, but Sakura kept me up a little longer. I was so dead the next day at school. Morgan had a four hour drive home from there, so he stayed a little bit and elpt (though my dad will never know ^.- ). taht was our grand conclusion.
Himeko is suffering emotional, Sakura regrets not getting her stalked person's e-0mail address, Urd-chan isn't happy with the con at all, and I'm well, thinking. ^^; I hate these feelings I'm feeling ;_; Guess that's it.
