Okay...so I've been dead for quite a while ^^; Let me explain that first: I entered into the NaNoWriMo novel contest. I was supposed to write 50,000 words (or 175 pages to them), but by the 15th I had 85 pages and 50009 words...so I'm done with it. In case you're wondering, Power Serge was the winner. It went through a couple name changes though. First it became The Circle of Magic, but the final title is Power Courage. You can find a little exceprt here. ^^ I know a couple people asked to read it..but it isn't actually finished. In fact, it's far from it. but, if anyone wants to read what I have right now..I'll break it into chapters and send it via e-mail. Just gotta let me know ^^ And, to add to all that...I should be working on my second term paper right now but i dun wanna XP

The night before the con...nothing too exciting happened. like usual, we were hurrying to finish things up. One thing that happend was pretty funyn so I'll give you the anecdote. My newest costume needed black balls for the hair. We used styrofoam ones. Urd-chan and Himeko sprayed them black with spray paint...but it dissolved the styrofoam XD LMAO! So, we had to get new ones...and I had to redo it Fri morning with acryllic
Friday-Precon
Like I said, I had to repaint the balls for my wig. Unfortunately, they weren't finish in time. SO, we bought a couple packs of scrunchies and used black ones as a temporary fix. Sakura's friend Megan had to get picked up, so she got to our house (by way of urd-chan) at about nine...maybe. XD Rachel got to my hosue at 9:30 or so. She scared the ehck out of me. I was talking to himeko and we were being really crazy (like usual) and then the door bell rang XD. We left at about 10:30 maybe and stopped at Walmart and the dollar store to pick up the finishing touches. I wore my costume there...

Costume: Dorothy from MAR
Karaoke: nemurenai wa Yoru from Slayers with Urd-chan, Eternal Snow from Full Moon wo Sagashtie with urd-chan, Futatsu no Negai from DNAngel with Sakura, and Tobira no Mukkou He from Full Metal Alchemist solo
So, we got to the con. I was so happy. I finally got to carry my prop...a six foot broom with a scythe on the end ^^; . We got there before 12 and it turned otu ti wasn't going to start at about 6....heh. So, we decided to go out an eat McDonald's. I lef tmy broom up in our room. When we got back, it turned out they weren't going to let me carry my broom around cause it was over 4 feet. Grrr....darn AR! It messed up the hotel for us before we got there. >.> I was without a broom ;_; No one identified me, but I didn't expect anyone to. Not at such a small con. I ran into Sen and he talked to urd-chan and me about my Japan trip. Twas great. We ordered otu pizza for dinenr. Everyone was a ltitle worried about Rachel coming along. First of all, Urd=chan thought that either she or Nick would get jealous cause I was spending time with one or the other. I tried to spend time with both...but it was kinda hard ^^; At least Rachel liked going off with Himeko or Sakrua sometimes. Second of all, urd-chan was worried that she was hitting on Matt. I have nothing else on that one...but it seemed okay to me ^^; I did a lot of karaokeing that night XD
Saturday-premasq
Costumes: Santa Rosette from Chrno Crusade, Kagome from InuYasha
I hate my habit for my Rosette costume. So, in the light of the season as well, Urd-chan bought a santa hat for my costuem and reindeer antlers for Himeko's chrno XD. Just like ep 12 cept I was wearing my nun costume. We got intervieweed by the Asian Broadcasting Network. I need to check that out later. Oh, and Sen's oldest daughter told me all about my to-be uniform. It isn't a typical sailor fuka...it's a navy skirt (long) and a blous with a skaura on it. There is a pale yellow vest that may be worn over and a navy jacket for witner. I still think it sounds cool though X3. I went to get dounughts in my rosette costume before I had the santa hat on XD. Loved the looks I got. Later Urd-chan took Sakura and Megan to get Wnedys for us. After that, I swicthed into my Kagome costume for the panel. I had two badges: one for myself, and one for the panel. The pnale was set up an little odd, but we made it through. I managed to say mroe than usual XD And we had more people.

So, a little before the panel I found out I was gophering masquearde. No big. I hadn't been to a masq in a while, so I thought why not. I switched into my Mimiru costume but put my jacket on over it. Why? Well, weapons weren't the only thing they were cracking down on. because there was this stupid christian convention going on and the hotel staff got complaints...certain costumes had to have been remvoed or cover. To prevent the possibility, I covered myself. Didn't want to risk it. I got to pick out our family pencil board for this con: a rave one. Twas so cute. ^^ I couldn't decided on that or get backers one, but Sakrua, Megan, and Rachel liked the rave one better. XD AFter I bought it, I was hanging around with Urd-chan by the door when she had to be called away. The staff member wasn't srue what to do for wathicng the dealer's room door, but I let her know I was actually a gohpher...in a way. So I watched the door until urd-chan got back and I was called inside the room to help set up for masquerade. The other guy working with me was totally hitting on me. I threatened to punch him in the face, but it had no effect. After a while, Mikey showed up and I was soo happy. he saved me! Yay! I set up chairs and picked up trash. Then, I was assigned to reserve seats. i wanted to sit with Himeko and Nick, but they wouldn't let me move. Then of course, it turned out they decided those seats didn't need rexerving after all. I couldn't find them, so I just sat in my great seat until the chair started to bother me. I spotted Ur-chan as she entered the room and went to go sit by her. This was the first masquerade I liked the judging for! I loved it! Though why Megan won an award cofused me..but I guess seh's my new sister now XD. After masq, Urd-chan, Sakura, Megan, Rachel, and I all went to find out about karaoke. In the end, it turned out they didn;'t have a staff memebr to run it. They found all the equipment and moved it to anotehr room. The guy there recognized me as a gopher and I ended up running karaoke with help from Sakura. It was soo mcuh fun X3. Hee hee. We stayed there til like 12 and then Nick, Sakura, and I made our way outside. it took a while to get the rest to join us. We drove Matt and Nick to Matt's house, then we drove Rachel to her house. Mikey's car was at our hosue so he left when we got home. Megan spent the night. Hee hee.
I've been going through manga withdraw lately...I haven't read anything in like two weeks! No shounen Sunday last week...but at least we should get one tomorrow XD ANd, I read anotehr chapter of yakitate! Japan before I wrote this (yep I was doing my termpaper). I need to catch up on that series...I started late into it lol. Well, guess that's it. I'm going to go back to pretneding I'm doing my term paper. Chao! |
